An estimate based on NAV's rates from 1 July 2026: the child's costs by age, the parents' income shares and the deduction for contact. NAV's full calculation also tests ability to pay and childcare costs.

How it is calculated

NAV starts from the child's costs (consumption by age plus housing, minus child benefit), shares them by the parents' incomes, caps the paying parent's part at 5/6 and deducts an amount for contact nights. The result is then tested against what the paying parent can afford. Equal time (delt bosted) follows special rules.
