How it is calculated
The reference table subtracts a minimum vital (the RSA for one person, 651.69 € from April 2026) from the paying parent's net income, then applies a percentage that depends on the number of children and on the arrangement: for one child 18% (reduced), 13.5% (classic) or 9% (alternating). The judge is not bound by the table.
Questions and answers
Is the table binding?
No. It is a reference the judge (juge aux affaires familiales) can use; parents can agree on another amount.
What about alternating residence?
A pension can still be due when incomes differ; the table has its own percentages for it.
Is the pension indexed?
Usually yes, once a year, as set in the decision or agreement.
